Using the Dashboard

A guide to navigating TutorQ and making the most of your dashboard.

Dashboard Overview

Your dashboard is your home base in TutorQ. Access it anytime by clicking the TutorQ logo or Dashboard in the navigation.

Main Sections

1. Quick Stats

• Daily usage remaining
• Current streak (days in a row)
• Concepts mastered this week

2. My Courses

• All enrolled courses
• Quick access to start chatting
• Recent activity in each course

3. Recent Sessions

• Your latest chat conversations
• Continue where you left off
• Review past explanations

4. Upcoming

• Concepts due for review (spaced repetition)
• Recommended topics based on your progress
• Course deadlines (if set by instructor)

Navigation Menu

Main Menu Items

Dashboard - Your home page My Courses - All your enrolled courses Courses - Browse and enroll in new courses History - All past chat sessions Progress - Your learning analytics Settings - Account and preferences

Course-Specific Navigation

When in a course, you'll see:

• Chat - Start or continue conversation
• Materials - View course materials
• Topics - Browse by module or week
• Progress - Your progress in this course

Using Search

The search bar (top right) finds:

• Courses
• Past conversations
• Specific topics or concepts
• Course materials

Tips:

• Use quotes for exact phrases: "photosynthesis"
• Filter by course: course:BIO101 mitochondria

Dark Mode

Toggle between light and dark mode:

• Click your profile picture → Toggle Theme
• Automatically saves your preference
• Syncs across devices

Customizing Your Dashboard

Pinned Courses

Pin your most important courses:

1. Hover over a course card
2. Click the pin icon
3. Pinned courses appear at the top

Dashboard Widgets

Customize what you see:

1. Go to Settings → Dashboard
2. Toggle widgets on/off:
   • Quick Stats
   • Study Streak
   • Recommended Topics
   • Upcoming Reviews

Notifications

Manage notifications:

• Settings → Notifications
• Choose email, in-app, or both
• Select what events trigger notifications

Keyboard Shortcuts

Speed up your workflow:

• / - Focus search
• c - New chat session
• h - Go to history
• d - Go to dashboard
• ? - Show all shortcuts

Mobile Experience

TutorQ works on mobile devices:

• Responsive design adapts to your screen
• All features available
• Optimized chat interface for phones
• Install as PWA (Progressive Web App) for app-like experience

Tips and Tricks

Quick Actions

Right-click (or long-press) on course cards for quick actions:

• Start chat
• View materials
• Check progress
• Course settings

Session Recovery

If you accidentally close a chat:

• Go to History
• Find the session
• Click Continue

Bookmarking Important Responses

In any chat session:

• Hover over an AI response
• Click the bookmark icon
• Access bookmarks from your dashboard

Troubleshooting Dashboard Issues

Dashboard not loading

1. Refresh the page (Cmd/Ctrl + R)
2. Clear browser cache
3. Try a different browser
4. Check your internet connection

Missing courses

• Make sure you're logged in
• Check if courses are archived (My Courses → Archived)
• Contact your instructor to verify enrollment

Slow performance

• Close unused browser tabs
• Disable browser extensions temporarily
• Check your internet speed
